Plumbing problems don't wait - neither do we!
If you’re on septic out in the country, you need to know what’s happening with your system before it fails. A septic inspection tells you if your tank needs pumping, if there’s damage to the tank itself, or if your drain field is starting to go bad. Waiting until sewage backs up into your house is the expensive way to find out something’s wrong.
We do septic inspections for homeowners around Holmen, Trempealeau, and the rural areas where city sewer doesn’t reach. A lot of folks call us when they’re buying or selling a house. Lenders want proof the septic system works before they’ll approve a loan. Smart buyers want to know they’re not inheriting a $15,000 septic replacement.
First, we locate your tank and dig down to expose the access lids. Then we open it up and check the water levels inside. If the water’s too high, your drain field might be failing. We measure how much solid waste has built up at the bottom and that tells us if you’re overdue for pumping.
We look for cracks in the tank, problems with the baffles, and check that the outlet pipe isn’t clogged. If you’ve got a distribution box, we inspect that too. Sometimes tree roots grow into the tanks or pipes and cause blockages.
The drain field is harder to inspect without digging, but we can spot warning signs. Soggy areas in your yard, sewage smells, or grass that’s way greener over the drain field all point to problems.
A basic inspection takes a couple hours. We’ll give you a written report of what we found and what needs fixing if anything. Regular inspections every few years catch small problems before they turn into full system failures that cost tens of thousands to replace.
