Plumbing problems don't wait - neither do we!
Basements flood. That’s just reality around here, especially during spring thaw or when we get heavy storms. All that water has to go somewhere, and if your lot doesn’t drain well, it’s coming straight into your basement. A sump pump is what keeps that water out.
We install sump pumps in homes all over Holmen and the surrounding areas. Some folks call us after their first flood when they’re standing in three inches of water trying to figure out what to do. Better to install one before that happens, but we’ll take care of you either way.
The pump sits in a pit dug into the lowest part of your basement floor. Water naturally flows to that low spot. When the water level rises high enough, a float switch triggers the pump to kick on. The pump pushes that water out through a discharge pipe that runs outside, away from your foundation.
We see a lot of homes in the newer subdivisions that already have sump pits installed but no pump. The builder cut corners. Other times, people have pumps that are 15 years old and ready to quit. You don’t want to find out your pump’s dead during the next big rain.
Installation takes us half a day usually. We dig the pit if you don’t have one, set the pump, run the discharge line, and test everything. We make sure the discharge is far enough from your house that the water won’t just seep back to your foundation.
Battery backup systems are smart too. Power goes out during storms all the time. Your sump pump won’t run without electricity unless you’ve got a battery backup. We install those along with the main pump so you’re covered either way.
